summer traditions: june: St. Bartholomew (Vurtolomej, Vurti-udri, Vurti-lomi) - 11 june

This is a holiday celebrated in the days that honor the apostles Bartholomew and Varnava. According to the people St. Bartholomew is the master of the sky elements - hails and thunders. It is not allowed to work in the fields on that day, the women do not wash their hair so that they will not become "scatter-brained" and "stupid", meaning that they will not suffer from headaches and dizziness. The cattle should not be harnesses for the same reason.

Church Holiday: St. Apostle Bartholomew and St. Apostle Varnava are Christ's students. It is believed that St. Bartholomew translates the Gospel into Hindi.
