This holiday is usually celebrated without traditions and rituals. It is celebrated only in some parts of the country as a protection from hail. An animal is given as a sacrifice on this day and the whole village shares a table. This is a big holiday for the shepherds in the Rhodopy Mountain. A traditional holiday in Southern Bulgaria is the ritual fire-dancing.

      Church Holiday: This day is celebrated mainly as a church one in almost the whole country. This day honors Constantine the Great and his mother Helen. According to the legend Helen discovers the cross of Christ in Palestine (The cross day). During the rule of Constantine the Great the Milan edict that turns Christianity into the country's religion was issued (313).
